So yesterday was Valentines Day, which marked 6 years for Eric and I.....Crazy. I was only 16 when we started dating and knew after about 3 months of dating him that we were going to get married.....ask me how my 16 naive, innocent brain knew this and I couldn't tell you. It was the same brain that told me to go to nursing school.
But I did.....And it hasn't been easy.
Eric and I met in the summer of 2004. We were both working at Carmike 15. He quit like 3 weeks after he started but I must of caught his eye some how, because he came back sometime between September and October and we met again. Eventually he came and left a note on my car at school and it kinda started from there. To make a long story short we dated off and on between November and January and he made it official on Valentines day after he left a huge bag of stuff in my driveway and I ask him to my own high school prom.....not my finest moment but I was desperate at the time because my mom spent $400 on a dress and told me I better have a date...haha! I didn't see him coming....not even for a second. Honestly he kinda come out of no where and was totally unexpected. I always thought I would have dated two guys around me at the time, or someone I knew. I never thought it would be some random guy I worked with momentarily. And I think thats how I knew we were meant to be together, because it came out of no where and for some reason he came back to me. =)
So this Valentines day was very low key. We just stayed home and Eric cooking dinner (which kinda turned into a disaster). But it was fine. So my Valentines present included flowers and a diamond band like this one!!
I can't really wear my wedding rings to work for two reasons. 1. because I wear gloves alot ( as one would expect from a nurse) and as much I put them on and off I run the risk of flinging it in the trash can.....which I have already dont once before with my engagement ring. 2. Because I am left handed, and as part of my job I have to put my hand in....well.....places that you would want a ring going up in if you know what I mean. I forgot to take it off one time and lets just say my patient didn't appreciate it very much =). So now I have something to wear to work.
Eric got himself a new scent!
My nose was running and my eyes were burning from going around smelling all the cologne. Also so commemorate Valentines Day at our church we played the newlywed game....and sadly I embarrassed myself and in the end we lost....mostly we lost because the girls questions were alot harder then the guys....just saying.....
But beside the fact I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines. I hope everyone out there who was single during this holiday will find the loves of there life one day. I think there is someone out there for everyone. You just have to be patient and know that God has a plan for your life and will work out his plan in his time not ours. There is a reason for everything!
